- April 30th to May 3rd in 2027 / Option to arrive 2 nights earlier.
- In the Sierra de Gredos, in the Mountains between Arenas de San Pedro and Candeleda. Tiétar Valley - Gredos.
- Taught by Pablo Ferrero, Director of Matrika Yoga School
In this May Bank Holiday Retreat, you will immerse yourself in an enriching experience that combines deep Yoga practice with self-inquiry and connection with the wild nature of Sierra de Gredos. We will integrate Iyengar Yoga, Hatha-Kriya Yoga and Tantra Yoga, complementing the practice with two medium-difficulty mountain hikes, guided by a professional local guide from the region, which will lead us to discover the natural pools and river of the Tiétar valley. We will also integrate meditative arts practices. In these dynamics we use dance, voice, music, free expression and body therapy for self-discovery.
Every individual longs for happiness, health and fulfillment, but there are no shortcuts or acts of faith to reach these goals. Yoga, together with meditation, the meditative arts and contact with mountain nature, provides an essential foundation for understanding ourselves and traces a clear path for living life in a way that supports the process of healing and reshaping our personal story.
How do Iyengar Yoga, Hatha-Kriya and Tantra come together in the search for balance? These three paths, although different in their approach, share the same purpose: reconnecting with our essential nature. In Sanskrit, the concept of "Swastha" translates as "Established in the Self". Imbalance in human beings occurs when they move away from their essential nature. Through this integration of Yoga styles, daily meditation, Ayurveda and mountain hikes as a practice of presence and connection with the environment, we will establish a guiding framework that will help participants design a life sadhana (daily practice), allowing them to live a life full of joy, authentic prosperity, purpose and freedom.
Featured activities:
- Two daily Yoga classes, each lasting 1.5 hours, integrating Iyengar Yoga, Hatha-Kriya Yoga and Tantra Yoga.
- Two daily meditation sessions and Pranayama (conscious breathing).
- Two guided mountain hikes, of medium difficulty, led by a professional local guide from the region, with visits to the area's natural pools and river.
- One Yoga philosophy and theory session per day.
- Practices in nature to center awareness in the space of the heart (Madhya).
