Ecstatic dance in Sierra de madrid

Ecstatic Dance & Meditative Arts with Pablo Ferrero

Facilitates Pablo Ferrero.

Ecstatic Dance is a form of dance in which the “dancers” do not have to follow fixed guidelines. All they have to do is abandon themselves to the rhythm, melody and harmony of the music and move as their particular expressive form demands. Although a priori the purpose of the ecstatic dance is to reach a state of ecstasy at its different levels, what Pablo Ferrero seeks is for the “dancer” to be coherent with his physical and emotional state and to be able to express himself with all your being what you are feeling. This dance is a form of meditation in movement that helps those who come to drop stress and unnecessary loads.

Ecstatic dance has been practiced throughout human history in countless contexts, such as by the followers of the God Dionysus, in shamanism, drum circles and in other spiritual practices carried out in different cults, sects and religious traditions. . Modern ecstatic dance was revived by Gabrielle Roth in the 1970s.

Through a musical wave we will deepen the landscapes of the mind, the body and what we feel in each moment. At Matrika Yoga School we frame the Ecstatic Dance within the meditative Arts of our school. Free expressive movement, joy, respect and listening to what moves internally from honesty generates a space of freedom and awareness.

Life is short, live passionately.
