Yogic Ayurvedic Massage

Relaxing and therapeutic massage

The word ayurveda comes from Sanskrit and literally means ayur “life” and veda “science or knowledge”. When we speak of Ayurveda we are talking about something as complex and mysterious as the science of life. Ayurveda deals with all facets of life and one very important is precisely Ayurvedic massage.
This science with more than 5000 years old defends that there are three elements (doshas) of which a being is composed: Vata (air), pitta (fire) and kapha (earth).

In turn, these elements are to a different extent in each individual, making each of us a unique person and at the same time common within human beings. This helps the therapist design a personalized treatment for each individual.

Life is short, live passionately.

Originated in Pune by the teacher Kusum Modak, a direct student of the master BKS Iyengar and had a great knowledge in Ayurveda.

It is a type of massage that can be from a therapeutic massage to a relaxing, detoxifying and rejuvenating massage. It is a strong but gentle massage on the entire body in which rubs are combined with yogic stretching depending on the patient.

Calamus (sweet flag) sesame oil and powder are used. It is done with the hands mainly being able to use the feet depending on the patient.

Calamus powder is a powerful detoxifier, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and exfoliant. It helps remove the deep toxins found in the lymph and muscles.

The Yogic Ayurvedic Massage allows whoever receives it to correct the energy imbalance and the day-to-day discomforts. It is a massage that revitalizes and makes energy flow freely through each and every molecule in our body.

Unlike conventional Ayurvedic massages, Yogic is a more therapeutic work that combines the art of yoga and Thai massage to do much deeper work.
